AVT 1226 - Instrument Pilot Flight Lab - Rotorcraft Helicopter 2 Cr. Hr(s). Prepares students with the skill and experience necessary to meet the requirements for a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Instrument Pilot certificate with a rotorcraft helicopter Class Rating. The course is conducted under 14 CFR Part 141. Topics include attitude instrument flying, instrument navigation, holding patterns, instrument approaches and instrument cross country flight including instrument flight rules en-route procedures. Course Performance Standards require 40.5 hours of flight time 100% completion of the syllabus requirements. Additional fees including a course fee and a flight lab fee as well as other out-of-pocket expenses apply. Contact the Department for the current listing of these fees and expenses. Six lab hours per week. Students must be available to fly additional training flight lessons or make-up lessons at times outside of the scheduled lab hours. Prerequisite(s): AVT 1111 AND AVT 1126 AND Approval of Department AND Student must hold Private Pilot-Rotorcraft Certificate Corequisite(s): AVT 1171
